Entrepreneurship Abroad

As the world has become increasingly interconnected, it is more important than ever for entrepreneurs to understand the global implications of emerging technologies. The Mayfield Fellows Program strives to foster an appreciation for entrepreneurial trends abroad by sponsoring an opportunity for each group of fellows to witness these international forces first-hand.

During the summer, the Mayfield Fellows embark on a two-week trip to explore opportunities for technology entrepreneurship and to evaluate foreign competitive landscapes. Mayfield Fellows meet with university professors, venture capitalists, government officials, technology entrepreneurs, and company executives to learn about topics such as technology trends, barriers to entry, corporate infrastructure, and burgeoning opportunities.

The past several years, the Mayfield Fellows have chosen to travel to China to better understand the trends that have been fueling the country's rapid economic growth.
